[Barre+] @ Booster [Pilates+] has it's own unique method to strengthen, lengthen and sculpt your body to a ballerina's body.
You will flow at a very high pace through a combination of postures inspired by ballet and Pilates to target small muscles with precise, tiny concentrated movements. You will increase your flexibility and develop a stronger lean silhouette with toned arms, thighs, butt without bulking up.
The 50-minute class starts with high energy ballet style cardio poses to warm up the muscles… just before hitting the arms with some weights to bring on the burn. You will continue to the barre to work those legs & bum with small isometric contractions. These are tiny, one-inch increments that fire up the muscle and make it more elastic. That's why you'll often hear: “Down an inch, up an inch, lift, tuck or curl”.
A soft-exercise ball is often used to help engage your leg muscles and you will come to dread words like "squeeze....squeeze" as well as "pulse". It's highly efficient as you are doing two to four movements - holding, pulsing, squeezing and stretching.
The movements will help strengthen muscles without impact and without strain on the tendons or ligaments.
The class ends on the Megaformer with core strengthening abs followed by a welcomed stretch to lengthen all those exhausted muscles.
