'This is really nothing like your typical barre class!' from Booster [Pilates+] coaches Lorraine and Miju.


[Barre+] @ Booster [Pilates+] has it's own unique method to strengthen, lengthen and sculpt your body to a ballerina's body. 


You will flow at a very high pace through a combination of postures inspired by ballet and Pilates to target small muscles with precise, tiny concentrated movements. You will increase your flexibility and develop a stronger lean silhouette with toned arms, thighs, butt without bulking up.

The 50-minute class starts with high energy ballet style cardio poses to warm up the muscles… just before hitting the arms with some weights to bring on the burn. You will continue to the barre to work those legs & bum with small isometric contractions. These are tiny, one-inch increments that fire up the muscle and make it more elastic. That's why you'll often hear: “Down an inch, up an inch, lift, tuck or curl”.

A soft-exercise ball is often used to help engage your leg muscles and you will come to dread words like "squeeze....squeeze" as well as "pulse". It's highly efficient as you are doing two to four movements - holding, pulsing, squeezing and stretching.

The movements will help strengthen muscles without impact and without strain on the tendons or ligaments.

The class ends on the Megaformer with core strengthening abs followed by a welcomed stretch to lengthen all those exhausted muscles. 

The classes are always changing & evolving so your body never knows what to expect.

And no worries, you don't need to have any dance or classical ballet experience to enjoy this class. You’re not going to be doing pirouettes! We all love positive people don’t we? It feels good to be around them; they inspire us and motivate us with their cheerful demeanor. I have been described on several occasions as a motivator, a positive and uplifting coach. We all have goals and my goal is to positively inspire and motivate you to achieve your goals. Positive thinking is aligned with your goal; negative thinking is not.

Human beings were designed to move, not sit on chairs. So exercise is an essential part of good body function. Not only does it keep the heart healthy and gives you the physical changes you desire but it helps deplete stress hormones and releases mood-enhancing chemicals which help us cope with stress better.

Exercise can have a positive effect on your mind, as well as on your body. According to the American Heart Association, exercise increases the amount of oxygen your brain receives, resulting in improved memory and mental acuity. Exercise also causes your brain to produce chemicals called endorphins, often classified to be the happy hormones. These chemicals work to boost your mood and to give you a sense of general well-being. As a result, exercising can sometimes be effective in easing depression and relieving stress, making it easier for you to cope with life’s challenges.

Booster Pilates is a therapeutic yet incredibly intense full body workout, best described as fire and water. The slow and controlled movements leaving the muscles trembling combined with balance, stability and concentration is the perfect recipe for the mind and body.
